Default How reliable are stock rockers for a H/C?

Just curious if there is much need to upgrade. I'm running out of money but i also don't want to take any shortcuts and end up falling on my face.

My setup:

RHS Heads (210cc)
Comp 230/230 .612/.590 111LSA +2

They are OK but if they are old they may wind up losing the needle bearings sometime. Id get them fortified.

Harland Sharp rebuilds are worth the piece of mind. That's the way I went.

The stock rockers are very good and problems have been very rare. The vast majority of head/cam engines have stock sockers.

I have been told by Futral that the stock rockers work fine up to 7500 rpms.

Exactly. If you don't wanna spend a fortune, go this route. It's what I plan on doin & they will be perfectly fine & long lasting after Harland gets done with them.

I believe it costs $250 plus shipping back to you.

I thought about doing the same since they are a good deal. But they are having problems with the pushrods coming through the top. Not a good prob to have. The stockers are hard to beat, much better if rebuilt. I haven't touched mine.

I plan on getting some Yella Terra Ultra lites for $390. Its not that much more money versus getting the rebuilt stockers but if you want to save some money they will work just fine.

Shameless plug here, but I've got a set of 12,000 mile rockers for sale. PM me for details.

I dunno TSP told me I dont need rockers.

I have over 89k miles. and I plan on running the head n cam for over 20,000 miles before I get a new engine. Im just afraid because what if I spend lots of time @ high rpms such as at the track, etc...

It really depends on the miles on your engine, when I did my head and cam my engine had 87,000-miles so i went ahead and got some aftermarket Harland-sharp roller rockers 1.7 ratio.
