what kind of setup's for a4's ????

i have been looking for a nice street setup for my 00 ss a4, like weather i should go with a cam and stall then heads a little while after or just turbo or supercharger??? its got minor mods such as hooker lt's 3.73 slp lid flowmaster's. i was just wondering what everyone else is running and how good its doing please let me know thanks

Stall would be my first- then cam and heads.

Good luck.

Optimal stall and cam together, but stall will benefit more in performance (ET) gains when done first.
however if a stall is chosen, gotta then match the cam to the stall, which is backward thinking. Decide on what goal you wish to achieve, decide on cam, match a stall to the cam, stall first then do cam later.

I went with a 3800 stall, tsp ms3 cam, and cnc ported ls6 heads. Solid running car that can be daily driven, made 425hp with big stall,ls6 intake, built 4l60-e,4.10's. This thing is a monster. But before you do a cam a really good stall and tranny cooler.

I agree.. I have a Vig3600,G5X3,unported LS6's, LS6 intake, 323 gears..
403rwhp/405rwtq, and that is with a slipping trans...

With an A4, you will need properly matched components to achieve your goals. Depends on what you want the car to do and how much $$$ you want to put into it. Definitely a higher stall torque converter is a must. With NA, SC or TT setups, they TC choice will be different. If you want to stay NA, the Yank SS3600-SS4000 will be a great choice with 3.42 or 3.73 gears. I currently use the SS4000/Strange 3.73's and this works really well. I will cross the traps at 6100 rpm's. On the street, the car is a little looser than stock but, the 3.73's will tighten it up some. Throw in a tranny cooler and you will be good to go. If you wanted to replace the cam, I would go no less than a 228/228. I have the Futral F10 Cam and it drives like stock and idles perfectly at 800 rpm. I bumped the shift points to 6,600 rpm's and it pulls hard even with '98 stock heads. Replace the stock LS1 intake to a LS6 intake and on drag radials, you will have an 11 second car with a few mods like these.
