I would use the 5.3 liter heads, i have run against cars with ls6 heads and the 5.3 is where it is at for down low power esp with that cam and yes i swing from the 5.3 heads, cheap and best bang for the buck

5.3 heads are the same intake and exhaust ports found in the 241 castings. The chambers are smaller than 241 chambers. We like to use them because it allows us to cnc the combustion chamber and not end up at 76 cc because they start off much smaller than the 241 LS1 chamber. The 5.3 heads have been one of our best sellers through the last 6 years. LS 6 heads are not too much better for power. The ported 241 and 853 casting are not too far behind either.

For the guys that were asking about flow numbers on our 241's. We maintain just a tad over 300 on the intake and about 235 on the exhaust at .650

I have had these heads lay down in the mid to upper 400 hp range at the tires on the 346's
