Were's My Torque?

with mods in sig, why am i not over 400ft ibs of torque? i have great components working together. my SCR is 11.3:1 and DCR is 8.6. why am i not well over 400 ft ibs of torque like most of the other good setups out there? lets here those ideas:nod:

I'd say your cam selection has sacrificed some torque and power under the curve for peak horsepower. Something with less duration would put you in the 400's for sure while sacrificing 10-15hp. But, that's just my guess.

hmmmmm. i would think your combo should have hit 400 rwtq also.do you know what your timing is at peak tq ? with a 228r on a 112 +2,tea 5.3 57 cc heads,11:7 scr/8:9 or so dcr i hit 402 rwtq around 4800 rpms with 350 @ 3k. the fast 90/90 was box stock also.

i dont know. i really dont know much about the tuning part

Yeah I'm suprised, u and me have very similar setups, except my cam is a 228/228 113 lsa. The other difference is my unported fast. Have u taken it to the tuner, who did the tune. Did u build the combo yourself and have someone tune it. Good luck, keep us posted.

You have lots of dyno-power-robbing mods:

4.10 gears
Spec billet steel flywheel
18" wheels and tires
cats could be causing you problems too.

I had high flow cats on my Kooks headers. At first, they were great. Within 1 rwhp of open. But after a year, my power fell off. Found out my bricks were trashed inside the cats. Gutted the cats and got my lost power back. :) Never assume that your cats are flowing 100% without checking them often.

If your timing is around 28 degrees at peak torque and your A/F ratio is around 12.5:1, then you've left no torque on the table in the tune. If all fails, find another dyno.

Well also Ported 90/90 will reduce trq but bring up HPs

In my experience, this is not true with the Mamo-ported FAST. Every dyno comparison I've seen shows it out-powering the LS6 intake in the low and mid-range. Other porters may hog out the runners and hurt velocity but not Tony.

i had a spec 3 also but stock gears and no cats.if the cats are starting to clog wouldn't it hurt peak hp as much or more than peak tq ? peak hp looks on par so it could possibly be the gears causing you to show you have less tq. either way 393 rwtq along with 4:10 cogs is still decent tq .hopefully you find the missing tq you are looking for.

You are better placed than me to know that ;) this really makes me wanting one.
