Opinions on Cloyes dual roller hex adjust timing set? I am thinking of running a Cloyes dual roller hex adjust timing set p/n 9-3159A on my 383 build along with a Melling hv/hp pump Anyone run this Cloyes? and along with the Melling pump? Anything good or bad to say...other than probably some machining to do to get things to fit thx |
I have a hex a just and like it. It makes life a lot simpler if you're wanting to play around with your timing a bit. Of course, if you perfectly spec out a cam, it doesn't help much because you won't need to adjust it. So, it's a toss up. It helped me b/c the cam wasn't meant for my setup, so the hex a just helped us dial it in a bit. |
I've got one and have no complaints, good product IMO. |
How are you supposed to adjust timing with it? |

I still have my double roller chain (roll master), not too sure if im gonna use it, it all depends on what the engine builder wants to use.. I also have the melling 10-296 pump w/ qtp 2pc cover.. I might have to clearance the 2pc cover as well, I dont know yet tho... Illlet the builder do that... A single chain should be more than enough, but who knows... |
