Default Should Absolte Speed's 5.3 (no milling) have a PVC ...

Should this set-up have a PVC problem with a 230/236 .592/.605 112 lsa cam.... with no milling done to the heads?

Also... it is possible to get 11:1 compression without milling these heads right?

How do you feel about this set-up on an M6 car.

I am probably going to order it this week!!!!!

yes that cam will work fine. absolute can make the compression 11.1:1 without milling the heads. i'll be running the g5x2 cam which is like a 232/237 cam. clay it if you really wanna make sure.

Hummm, TEA says that they have to mill the 5.3's .015 to get 11:1

I don't know..... different heads = different results.

How do you guys like the sounds of this package.

I also will be installing a Rollmaster Double Roller, Yella Terra 1.7 rockers, Texas Speed modified LS6 oil pump.

Sound like a winner????

Clay. I just got an email today on a set of 1.5 TEA's @ 11:1 that I was going to put with my TR230. I dont believe that P/V is going to be a problem, but I'll Clay anyway. He said he would have to mill .015 for the compression.

I have a set of Absolutes 5.3L Stage-II that have not been milled and after measuring the valve drop on a surface plate and comparing it to the valve drop on a stock head, almost .040" difference. I am pretty sure I will have to cut the pistons to handle my G5X2. I am prepared though, I have the Isky cutter ready and waiting on my bench. I will hopefully know by Wed. afternoon, thats when I am going to bolt them up and clay them.

one of the great things about the 5.3l head is the versitility with the combustion chambers, being a hand porter I can open the chmbers up to 10.8 or leave them tight for 11.0-1 with minimal deshrouding without hurting flow. the tight chamber also leaves a small quench area in front of the valves that works with the larger quench area behind the valves. with these quench areas I am able to get a better burn rate and prevent detonation with 11.0 or higher

Mike#9-- when you order the heads and cam from us, we can do a p to v clearance check on one of our test motors in the shop, we always add .005 for cushion since there will be variances from motor to motor, we can let you know if you will need to fly cut and how much, or we can adjust the intake valves by sinking them so you wont have to fly cut. wih the cam you suggested we should have no problem setting them up with no fly cutting, with the g5x2 fly cutting is recomended, we will not be able to sink the valve enough without hurting the flow of the port with that cam.
