ls7 lifters questions inside

Will ls7 lifters work in an ls1 and are they better than stock ls1 lifters? How do they compare? I have heard the caddy lifter are pretty good which are better?

From what I have found the LS7 will work in a ls1. The LS7 are rated for a higher RPM. while the Caddy's are even higher (can't remember the RPMs off the top of my head)

LS7 lifter = LS1 Lifter replacement

The LS7 lifter is the factory replacement for the LS1/6 part.

What type of preload is recommended? Wild shot here, would they work in an early 90's SBC?

Did anyone the switched to the LS7 lifters note they are slightly noisier then the stock LS1's?

Nope. But when I did lifters I did a full H/C swap, so all around valvetrain noise had a slight increase.
