Idle counts 145 in Vette do they have a Idle Air Motor?

Ok, a friend brought over his vette it just had a heads and cam done, little cam 212 218. It idles about 600-700revs, and the Idle Air counts are 140-150.

The weird they I don't see a Idle air motor, do vette have them or does the butterfly motor take care of this? How can I bring it down?

Thanks again.
Z

The newer ones that are drive by wire do not. That motor is quite busy. It does the idle and cruise function. When that motor goes you've got problems

Vettes are fly-by-wire.PCM controls the blade/butterfly.
No need to bring them down to the 30 - 50 range. With that cam it should adjust itself- I would think. If not then try an "Idle Relearn".

Automatic Transmission:
1 Turn off the ignition

2 Restore the PCM battery feed

3 Turn Off the AC controls

4 Set the parking brake and block the drive wheels

5 Start the engine

6 Allow the engine coolant temperature to reach 176 degrees F

7 Shift the transmission selector into the drive range

8 Allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes

9 Turn on the AC controls (Omit for 2000-01 model)

10 Allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes (Omit for 2000-01 model)

11 Shift the transmission selector into Park

12 Allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes (Omit for 2000-01 model)

13 Turn off the AC controls (Omit for 2000-01 model)

14 Allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes

15 Turn off the engine for 15 seconds

Manual Transmission:

1 Turn Off the ignition

2 Restore the PCM battery feed

3 Turn Off the AC controls

4 Set the parking brake and block the drive wheels

5 Transmission in neutral

6 Start the engine

7 Allow the engine coolant temperature to reach 176 degrees F

8 Turn on the AC controls (Omit for 2000-01 model)

9 Allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes (Omit for 2000-01 model)

10 Turn off the AC controls (Omit for 2000-01 model)

11 Allow the engine to idle for 5 minutes

12 Turn off the engine for 15 seconds

IACs can be adjusted with LS1Edit, Engine Cal->Idle + Limiters->IAC Park Position. Can make small increases at 40*C and above.Don't scale IACs make individual changes at each temp and then see how it does as it migrates through each temp transition. If it needs more air then increase it a small amount.Idle Air (running airflow) seems to run in tandem with IAC -so you would scale this slightly, say 105% for example You really won't need these (IAC and Idle Air)changes with that cam.Hope this helps some Good Luck!
