rebuild suggestions/questions
I'm building my '02 ls1 to go in my '98 z unstalleda4. This will be a daily driver with stock exhaust. I've got the bearings picked out to order but I still need piston rings. Going to use to stock pistons because it only had 38k miles on it. Block was honed and had new cam bearings put in. Where can I get stock rings or do you think I'll need some bigger than stock?
My other question is for the cam. Thinking of running the 224 cam on the 114 LSA with some 918 springs. I've got some 853 heads that I'm going to run. The car will be daily driven with minor street usage. Would another setup be better or would this run ok? I know you're going to say put a stall in it but it will eventually be a 6-speed car.
Any other suggestions/comments?

well you shouldnt blindly hone it. you need to measure the clearance on the pistons and see if it is in spec or not. if not then go ahead buy oversized pistons and bore/hone to match the piston. you dont match parts to the block, you match the block to the piston. if you just cleaned it up with a light hone and there was no ring groove then you should be fine..........
