PRC Stg 1.0 LS6 or Stg 2.5 5.3l Heads?
I have a 233/239 112 cam with all supporting mods and will be adding a fast 90 to my set-up also. I am stuck on which heads I sould get. The 1.0 LS6 heads have stock vlv sizes (I am not going to flycut) so I was going to mill the head to a 61cc (or smaller if I can??) and run a Cometic .040 head gasket. On the 5.3l heads I was going to mill those to 61cc and run stock mls gaskets. Which would be better for my cam/set-up? Both heads flow pretty much the same numbers, I am looking for more power from 4k and up, will the better quench area of the 1.0's and .040 work better for me over the 5.3's and stock gaskets?.......Thanks!

With that cam you'll not be able to mill and run .040.
IMO your best bet is to get PRC 2.5 with valve sunk, measure PTV with cam and gasket and only then you can decide to run .040 or not

I know I can mill the 2.5's to 61cc and run a stock mls gasket safely I just want to know what head is going to give me the better hp number from 4k-6500. I dont have to mill the LS6's if I can get away with using a .040 gasket if that will work better

The LS6 heads do have slightly better performance on the top end. If you're planning on spending alot of time in the higher RPM's, they'll treat you right! As for milling and gasket selection. My gut says you'll be fine with the .040" gasket and milled as much as .010"....but you'll for sure want to check it before you start it up!
