Where can I buy Toluene or Xylene from? (Specifically AZ) Since I only have access to 87 octane for the next few weeks, I'm in need of some octane boost.
I've called Home Depot and Lowes and they don't carry either.
Where else can I look? Paint supply store?

I bought a few gallons of Xylene to prevent a certain silicon from hardening.
I forgot the name but the logo goes something like "paint the world" or something like that. I think you can use "mineral spirits" as well. I have a friend with a 67 camaro that runs a 13:1 compression with iron heads. This guy mixes his own fuel and mentioned using Xylene, Toluene and mineral spirits and some other ****. You can try a google search to find mixture charts
Use protective gear!! that is some BAD ****!!

HOLY ****, you better read the MSDS's on those chemicals. They are nasty.
Get some latex gloves that go up to your elbows, goggles specifically designed for chemicals (they don't have holes punched all over them), and a mask that protects you from vapors.
Damn I forgot all the specifics, I am sure if you ask the guy at the counter he'll recommend whats right.
I used to play with Xylene and the precautions that we took actually freaked me out a bit. Then again they were afraid of lawsuits but this stuff shouldn't be taken lightly in either case.

Crimony... you guys know that you're just dealing with product similar to thinner, or mineral spirits, right? Cripes man, dispatching a Level 3 containment team from FEMA *might* be a bit of overkill just for pouring a couple pints of paint thinner into your gas tank.
Resist the temptation to drink the product, but otherwise, I think you'll survive. If you get it in your eyes or on your skin, flush them, or wash it off. It's August and 90+ degrees... leave your bio-hazard suit on the hangar in the closet and calm down. It's thinner, not plutonium.
