How much can u mill 853's

I have a 6.0 lq4 using stock replacement pistons 4.010 bore looking to get as much compression as I can out of it with 853 heads.

.030 i believe. I'm pretty sure you need to use 3.905 gaskets and not 4.010 too.

I pulled .050 without any ill effects

i bought a car and the ad when i bought it said that the car has stage two heads on it but the casting on the front say 853 can i check this somehow?

.050 is as far as I would take it. I know .035 on mine is fine.

chpmnsws6,
Did you have to mill the intake any to get it to fit ok?
Shorter PR too I assume.

chpmnsws6 Jul 13, 2008 12:32 PM

Didn't have to angle mill it, and yes, I ended up with a 7.350 PR

Cool, that's what I did with my 241's :)
