Am I reading this right? You want to reuse the stock yellow springs? You're not going to be able to do anything larger than a LS6 cam on those springs safely...

The 243 castings are great though.

I use 918 springs, but change them out each winter.

my cam is 224/224 581/581 112+0 XeR

polished 243 heads, TPIS 84 TB,on LS6 intake TPIS Lts, high flow cats, x-pipe and straight pipes MN6

Just over 400 rwhp and rwtq

Not trying to hijack. I just had my car dynoed and It put down 389Rwhp I thought it was a low number but was also told that the dyno Is about 13-15 hp less than the other dynojets in the area. So that would put me about 400rwhp. You have about the same set up as me. I also have a 12 bolt. is your car a M6.

To the OP just giving you a little info on what my TR224 112lsa did with my portted 243 heads, and trying to get a little info for me at the same time .

My car only sees 3000 to 6750 red line. 4-6 times every 2 min for 20 to 45 min at a time, 3-4 times a day x 2 or 3 days in a row, 2 x a month.

24,000 hard road track miles.

I pull my heads each winter to check the valves, seats and springs. Once in a while I will find one spring that is just slightly off from the others. ( spring compression test ) .

I find it just easer to get new springs each winter and test the whole set. Which are almost Identical in compression. as I dont want to pull heads duing the summer or have a blown engine.

Yes I know there are better springs then 918s but I have had nothing but good luck with them, so I will keep using the 918s
