Default How do I find out what has been done internally?

Is there a way to check if LS1 has been cammed or stroked without tearing it apart?

a dyno will reveal tidbits of the internals done, other than that, only a tear down will let you know the truth.

Isn't there a way to pull the valve covers and check the cam? I dunno, just asking.

If you pull the covers and there are hardened pushrods it has prob has a cam in it. Are there any bolt ons or external mods?

Default NO external mods on this one.

It is a different car than listed in my profile. It looks like at one time it had a bottle on it, but does not now. Car pulls hard, but doesn't 'sound' like it is cammed. It is quite a bit faster than my 6-speed on motor.

Sounds like a tear down is the only way to tell. There are some really stealthy cams out there and may be worth pulling one of the vc off to see.

I guess you could probably use a dial indicater to see what kind of lift the cam is producing too. All would require removal of the valve covers though.

couldn't you just pop the oil filler elbow off and look in the valve cover and take a look for aftermarket springs? Or like said above the dyno won't lie. Or if u have a lsx shop nearby see if u could just give them a couple bucks to take a look at your tune(not change anything just look to see if it's not stock).
