Posted this in the Auto trans section, but no reply's help :) Ok well I have decided on a speed inc. stage 3 4L60-E....now for the converter...I have T.E.A. S2 5.3 liter head's, 228/228 .588"/.588" 112 XE-R cam,3.42 gear's,lid,pullies,longtubes,3" x pipe ect...the car weighs about 3500 with me in it im guessing...for the combo stated above i am thinking YPT 4000 stall...BUT I am gunna be spraying a 150 shot pretty often and it's my daily driver so i dont know.and I spray directly off the line...i dont want the car to be a dog on the motor and a beast on spray...i want the car to be a beast on motor and insane on spray! lol...Any suggestins are appreaciated..Thank's, Carter |
Re: Posted this in the Auto trans section, but no reply's help :) TCS all the way. I am sure u will get lots more votes for TCS. |
Re: Posted this in the Auto trans section, but no reply's help :) My suggestion is to stop spraying under 3000rpm before you lift the heads, or break a crank. |
Re: Posted this in the Auto trans section, but no reply's help :) I just ordered a TCS 4000. TCS offers the option of a custom converter built to your specs at a reasonable cost. I based my specs on the torque and hp curve, how much "hit" I wanted off the line, peak hp rpms, and streetability, and future engine plans. TCS offer a killer warranty, 3 free re-stalls and will even look at your old converter if needed. Hard to beat in my opinion. N20 changes what converter you will need. Someone like Colonel or Ragtop should chime in for that. |
Re: Posted this in the Auto trans section, but no reply's help :) I wouldnt be spraying a 150 shot a lot on my daily driver on top of H/C w/ a stock shortblock, but thats just my opinion. One thing to remember is that the converter is set to stall to a given rpm with a given amount of torque. If you buy a PT4000 it'll stall much higher on the spray. You want a tighter converter for N2O so you can make use of the torque that nitrous provides. That would be a nicer 'verter for NA track use, but you may want to look at the Extreme series of converters from Yank. |
Re: Posted this in the Auto trans section, but no reply's help :) The 150 shot is fine by me lol...been doing 200 for about 2 years...but gunna drop it down a notch...the reason i want a new converter is because my old one pulled hard on the juice but not enough on the motor...I know n20 flashes much higher than on the motor...but thats kinda what i want...i want to stay in the power band all the time...can anyone reccomend a nice n20 converter that would stall about 4500 on the spray? and 3800-4000 on motor? i balooned my vig converter lol thing looks like an out of round donut..i broke the anit ballon plates i guess?? TCS is a nice company...should i go with a pheonix or what kind? |
Re: Posted this in the Auto trans section, but no reply's help :) Call and speak with Derek at TCS. I also understand that they give UNLIMITED free restalls of the vertors. Sponsor over here---------------> |
