Default Machining pushrod holes on AFRs

Has anyone opened up the pushrod holes on a set of 225s? how big did you go. I have a set of comp shaft rockers and the pushrod rubs on the valve side of the hole.

I use the Comp Cams #1500 system on my V (LS6) and had to open the holes up a tad to get the pushrods to not rub.

Doesn't take much, and it is really critical/helpful if you try to use a minimum amount of screw adjustment as that increases the chances of rubbing.

Stock push rods were too long however.

Then I had to install a 1/2" spacer under the valve cover (JEG'S) to keep the rockers from hitting even after I removed every boss and protrusion in the cover.

PITA, but these rockers ROCK!

Used a dremel while my friend held a vacuum connection to suck up the specs.

Sprayed the whole area with a degreaser so nothing would stick and taped and papered off each area as I did it.

I wasn't going to pulll the heads again for this crap!

You only have to oblong the valve side of the hole anyway.

It would have been nice for Comp to explain this little mod you have to do in the instructions huh?

I thought the geometry was wrong until we measured it like three different times!

Nothing like an adjustable rocker though.

The forced oiling I like to.
