Default Need some one to spec a cam for a 6.0 Come in (Patric G) or (Pretator Z)

I am fixing to swap in an iron 6.0 (Pretty sure its a LQ4) I will be staying with stock bore size. I have a set of patriot stage 2 ported heads off of my ls1 that I will be using as well as my fast 78mm intake. I don't want to get to crazy with the cam I want it to be at least as street friendly as my torquer v.3 cam I have in my ls1 now. I have been told the 6.0s like a little more duration I just want to keep it streetable. Let me know what info you guys need.

The torquer V.3 with my ported heads and bolt ons made 400 rwhp through an a4 and pt3800 converter. I might use the same cam. I just know a little larger cam in a 6.0 will make probably 40-60 more hp. At least that is what I was told.

A 6.0 is 18 more cubes than an LS1. A strong running motor will make 1.25-1.35 times its displacement in rear wheel horsepower. You're not going to make 40-60 rwhp more with displacement and a larger cam of the same drivability. That said, a cam that's 4 degrees bigger will have about the same drivability as your V3.

236/240 .615/.608 111+3 LSA

PM me for the rest, but you'll need to breathe more, 92/92 and 85mm Maf, + some serious tuning

What do you guys think the 6.0 will make with the torquer v.3 cam and my current heads? My ls1 makes 400 rwhp and 370 rwtq. I would be happy with it if it would make 10 more hp and 20 tq.

Why would you do a complete engine swap to just gain 10 hp and 20 tq? If your going through that hassle make some worthwhile larger numbers. You can keep the streetability and gain hp with the larger displacement. Agree, you'll want a larger intake than a 78 mm to allow the engine to breathe more with the larger cam.

The stock short block in this car has 109,000 miles on it. In the future I will be adding a 100-150 hp shot of nitrous. This car is just my street car I drive daily. I have a 69 nova that I race. If I swap to a 92/92 set up and another cam that will be $1700-$1800 for what maybe 20-30 hp? 20-30 hp is not worth spending $1800 to me. I have this low mileage 6.0 just sitting wrapped up in my garage and decided I am ready to do something with it before my stock ls1 short block has any problems. I will probly have my stock short block freshened up and put it up to go back in the car one day.

Thhen don't kill yourself thinking, reuse the TV3, it will make good power and good trq, keep in mind the LQ4 has dished pistons so mill the heads a bit to bring compression up a bit.
