Drive by Wire w/ stock F-body PCM
Did some searches, but didn't find anything.
I'm swapping an L92 into a 2001 F-body. At this point, I'd rather keep the drive by wire TB coming with the new engine and save some money. Is there any way to make this work with the stock LS1 PCM, or am I SOL? Thanks!

I want to know too!! I have been searching for a positive answer to this same question. I have an '07 escalade L92, with the factor PCM and the DBW TB. I dont have the gas pedal. Does anyone know what electronic gas pedal will work? does it have to be the escalade one, or any '06+ pedal?

You might have to look at PCM part #'s for the vette and the F-body. If I were to guess the f-body unit can't do DBW. Might want to check in the tuning forum to see if it can be done.

I ran into a guy at Sema last week that does drive by wire conversions. His website is http://panteraefi.com/ . He is in Las Vegas.

This was my question to Pantera EFI:
I am in the process of swapping an L92 engine into my 2001 Camaro Z28. I was linked to your website off LS1 tech, and I am interested in purchasing your DBW to cable conversion kit. Can you explain how it works, if it will work with a stock F-body ECM, and pricing / availability. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter!
This was my response:
I have the kits ready to ship at $125 plus shipping from Las Vegas.
It comes with a new throttle blade shaft that you install, Throttle
position sensor a few misc. pcs. and TPS connector with terminals.
The IAC( idle air control) is a seperate part number that
has the connector to plug into your 01. Cost is $85.00.
The new 90mm T.B. does not have IAC provisions because
the ECU on fly-by-wire uses the T.B. to control idle.

The trick is finding the TAC module for the Corvette. They are $300ish from GM if you can find one.
You will have to reflash the ECM with the Corvette stuff. Simply turning on the DBW in HPTuners does not work correctly based on what I've read on the HPTuners forum.
I've researched the heck out of this stuff for my 69 Camaro. I'm running a DBW 24x converted BBC with a 411 PCM. 2003 Corvette flash, TAC and pedal.
These are the latest part numbers
19245405 TAC Module
12565643 Drive by Wire Pedal
If you are OK with a 78mm TB the 2003-2007 truck stuff is much cheaper but requires a green-blue PCM (2004 Corvette) and truck base cal.

The f-body PCM will work with DBW, the '411 PCM was used in Corvettes and trucks with DBW.

I have not heard of any particular advantage of the blue-green PCMs over the 411 in terms of HP. The only reason -to me- to run one would be to use the cheaper truck TAC and TB in a engine swap application.
If you want to run the blue-green PCM and 1997-2004 vette TAC you'll need the base cal from a 2004 Corvette.

I'd stay away from the converter box and use the Corvette TAC with the LS2 TB. The cost would probably be a wash.

Yes that would work so would the vette TAC and a 411 PCM. If you already have a 411 PCM married to your HPtuners cable you might be able to get HPTuners to swap the segments into your f-body file to properly configure the DBW. That way you would not have to burn any credits. I'm guessing you already have a PCM, if so whats the part # on it?
