Default How to wreck an LSX Motor

These were pulled from a very expensve build - it ate two camshafts, the first time totally destroyed an LSX block. The second time, I shut it down knowing the noise from lifter failure.

Tony Mamo was spot on, warned me and unfortunately, I did not listen to him. My major mistake. Now I'm going to be askiing for his help again. Tony, what do I say..... nothing other than you warned me and I idgnored you, Here you go:

Roy,

Sorry to hear about the engine failures.....they are never fun and usually costly as Im sure you know.

So I take it some of the multi-piece pushrods failed? Different lengths, while not an optimal situation, wouldn't typically cause a lifter failure unless there were lash issues and alot of play in a few of the shorter pushrod cylinders. I would think that the engine would have been noisy in the valvetrain dept. had that been the case.

You know where to find me....call or PM me anytime if you like

Regards,
Tony
