Default broke a bolt in the head :(

long story short my torque wrench is a piece of **** and i broke #10 intake manifold bolt in the head. if i can't get it out, can i run it for a while with one broken bolt? i know i'll have a vacuum leak, but i was curious if anyone else has just run it till they put different heads on.

It might not be much of a leak. Try an easy out!

I would pull the intake off and try work the bolt out with a pick. Once the bolt breaks the tension is taken off the threads and you can usually turn them out though it may take awhile.

I did that when I installed my FAST the first time. Actually, I did it twice. Each time, in succession, I was able to remove the intake and remove the bolt by hand pretty easily. I quickly learned how to do 1/8 turns on each bolt and it took about 10 passes to get it fully seated and tight.

not too much of a leak lol it only idles at 1600 when cold and until i drive it around the lowest it'll go is 850-900, it'd be great if i had a cam i could drive it and not worry about the idle being way to low for the cam the bolt is in the head so i'm gonna have a buddy look at it and see if we can get it out with the head still in the car, if not i'll be throwing on some other heads with a LS6 cam
