Default ls2

So I got a 6.0 ls2 from a o6 gto in my 00ss. I'm thinking about getting rid of it for an ls1 again and was wondering what I could get for it. Its got 34,000 miles on it and ls1 pan. is ready to put in an f-body. I may or may sell heads and intake with it. how much do you think I could get out of it? enough to get an ls1 and put a cam in it?

First thing I would check is to see if that LS2 is a 58x or 24x. You can tell by the color of the crank sensor on the front cover but I'm not exactly sure on the color. Hopefully someone will chim in on that. Check the harness too, in case it was damaged, or a ground was forgotten in the swap.

And map sensor should be just behind the TB, on pass side.

Lingenfelter makes a converter box to convert the 58x signal to 24x. It'll be a lot easier than a motor swap

Well I got the map sensor working, and its on the back of mine. got the motor bolted down all the way and a couple other little things. Now maybe that thing won't have to come out and I may keep it after all. So is the ls1 and ls2 pretty much the same as far as working on it? I'm gonna put a cam in there and its got a bad lifter I'm pretty sure. so I see you can put the cam in an ls1 while its in the car, would It be pretty much the same on the ls2? and what about the lifters? Also how big can I go with the cam with out having problems, other than changing the springs as far as I know its got stock 243 heads and the valve springs are yellow, are those stock?

yes, almost everything is the same except the location of the knock sensors, and a few other minor things.

Yes, you can do a cam swap with the motor in the car, and the lifters are the same. Just get some LS7 lifters

Also how big can I go with the cam with out having problems
I would look in the Dyno section, and set a goal for hp/tq it will make it easier to find a cam

yes, those are the stock springs
