Angry Pass Side LS1 Valve Cover won't fit on LS3 Head, WTF!!!

I'm installing a built LS3 into my 2001 Camaro SS and the Pass side valve cover won't fit.

The Comp Cam rocker trunions are hitting the baffles on the inside. The drivers side valve cover goes on fine.

What the hell am I suppose to do now? My LS1 valve covers are chrome plated and I don't want to get new ones but it looks like I will have to.

Do I need to get a Pass Side LS3 valve cover to make this work?

Bill

exactly what i did. the rockers get in the way of the baffles. I also added an ls6 style valley cover to make sure I didn't get more oil in the intake with the baffles gone.

you can keep it as-is if you want, the ls6 setup is not a necessity. you can find info on the swap here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-question.html

the new part numbers you'll want are:
12577927 for cover/gasket/bolts
12594779 for molded hose (or you can just use regular hose, this just looks cleaner)

I could just cap the port on the LS3 valley cover then, correct and have a "LS1" style PCV system?

I just want to get my engine installed and running at this point. I'm running out of time.

$70 would have got you an ls6 pcv system. Would have been cheaper to do that and cut into the ls1 valve covers.

your not worried about pushing oil back through the fresh air tube into the throttle body now that you removed the baffle?

How much interference was there?

Maybe a set of VC spacers would help for those that are in a a pinch?
