Gents,

My dad got himself a a 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo 5.3l engine to put into his '31 Model A Ford Sedan. I told him to find a 4l60e trans from a 2005 GM vehicle and install that with his swap.

The problem/question/help needed is, he seems to think that because the Monte Carlo was FWD, a 4l60e won't mount up to it. This isn't true, is it?

the 4L60E is rear wheel drive, the 4T60E is the front wheel drive model.

Pretty sure the bell pattern is different and the starter mount too...

Your dad is right. There are a lot of things different. He would have been a lot better off with a different motor.

So he will need a different block? Oh happy day.
