Default ls3 376/480 crank pulley seal?

wanting to swap the corvette crank pulley for the truck style pulley to be able to run some hydraulic pumps for an offroad truck (belt spacing). My question is the vette pulley has a rubber/metal seal on the crank end of the pulley and the truck pulley does not. The seal can be removed but will not fit the truck pulley. Does anyone know what this seal is? and do I need it? Has anyone swapped aftermarket pulleys (under/overdrive) did they have the seal?

Thanks

Mark

Junk it, you don't need it.

I swaped my stock 2010 Camaro crank pulley for a SLP underdrive pulley. The stock pulley has the same metal/rubber gasket as that Corvette pulley. You do not put it on the SLP pulley or I suspect on that truck pulley you are using. Just replace the timing cover seal.

It's not a seal, it's a special friction washer that helps keep the balancer from spinning on high/quick revving engines. You prolly don't need it for a truck, but they came on performance engines for a reason...

Thanks for the info guys, as **** as I am I think I will chuck this up in the lathe and turn the groove so my special friction washer will fit the truck pulley.....

Bingo!

We typically throw them out when swapping the pulley.
