Question side exit exhaust ?'s

just wanting some opinions from you guys on a choice of mufflers..so the old setup was slp LT headers with a 3in y-pipe into a 3in loudmouth Bullet II muffler into dual 3in axel back....Sounded great but had a little rasp to it but it was heavy..so the current setup is the same headers with only 22in long 3in header extensions with 45 degree turn downs which saves alot of weight and gave a nice increase in top end HP while still retaining TQ....Sounds great but its pretty darn loud...so here is my plan now.....The headers straight into a muffler then into side exit exhaust in front of the rear tires. so im just wondering what would be the best muffler that would have very little back pressure, good sound with little to no rasp....i was thinking Corsa, or Borla..not sure..whats ur guys opinions?

borla is a good choice but the prob is with side exit exhaust how are you gunna get it on a lift if needed? i wanted to do the same and ran into this issue. i ended up dumping it as close to the rear axle as i could(actually cut a 1/4 off the turn downs so it wouldnt rub the axle) and i sound deadened with sum 1/8" roof sheathing. worked great sounded great was light and wasnt too bad inside the car

Dr gas sells side exhaust tips. Some have mufflers built in. And you cut to fit

It's been talked about for years and tried several times but there just isn't enough room in that area for 3" pipe and a decent muffler.

ive got 22in long 3in header extensions right now with 45 deg turndowns and from what space i have it looks like i could cut in a round 4in glasspack style muffler like my old SLP loudmouth bullet II muffler or a nice Corsa

you would be suprised, they are more than just fancy flat tips. they are actually mufflers in themselves.

Maybe my eyes are not working. Is that an F-body, and iff so how is it attached at the edges of the body, and is the fuel line shielded.

just watched a video last night of the DR GAS Freq Mod mufflers....i think ive found the ones im gonna use ....headers straight into a freq mod muffler on each side (true duals) then out of the freq mod into a short 6in long 3in 45degree turndown just befor the rear tires...should sound epic after the H/C setup
