Default Rad fans turn on when I turn OFF the car

I turn off the car and the fans come on and stay on till the battery dies.

Even if the car has been sitting for 2 days and I open the door or unlock the doors the fans turn on.

It's intermittent. Not always there. No SES light. Swapped in 3 relays. Not a relay issue.

Are there bleeder screws on the cooling system on the LS1? Maybe it has an air pocket?

2001 Trans Am M6.

Air pocket maybe. Mine turn on sometimes, but shortly turn off once the engine cools

IMO, check the wiring going to the relays(down below relays) you might have 2 damaged wires making contact.

That's a good suggestion actually because sometimes they turn on when I slam the hood lol.

Yesterday they were on and turned off when I slammed the door.

Don't suppose anyone has a wiring schematic?

Maybe someone with a 2001 will post up the wire diagram for the fans, otherwise search online for one.
Here's one:

The schematics are posted in the FAQ's ,in the stickies, in the conversion section. You may have to search a little but I know they're there because I posted them.

Totally this.. Mine started to do the same. Fans would randomly turn on and off then something happened and had several wires melt into eachother and into the plastic fuse box under the hood. It never popped a fuse either witch was weird.

I completely rewired mine with 2 Relays to work with the Trans cooler that is on the pass side in front of the radiator. I first re-tuned the Lo and Hi fans to come on at the same time (HPT). Then wired the Hi fan wire into the pass side and installed a mini 3 way manual fan switch (On/Off/Auto) with an indicator switch. Then wired Lo fan wire into the drivers fan. It works great. If I see the trans starting to get hot but the engine is not hot enough to kick them on I just turn on the manual switch which runs just the fan that is behind the trans cooler.

Yeah you have loose ground or loose wire somewhere, you need to find it.

I think I might just do that. Wire them both to come on together. Having a hell of a time trying to disconnect the relay box so I can flip it over to take a look.

Tried to find the short...looks to be close to where the wires T-off near the fuse box. I just decided to wire the first fan into the second one so they both turn on when the low speed one turns on.
