you should have no issues getting a 6" bullet in there
(we did it with the Billy boats & Hushpowers) .
The passenger side will fit with no modification, the drivers side needs a little adjusting towards the outer fender in an effort to clear the trunk cavity. The angle will make the muffler rub on the trunk cavity ... find a way to bend it out just about an inch & you have it.

The Magnaflows are 4" or 5" wide right? So I don't know why a 6" wouldn't work. I think the dude was just not in the mood to fight it.

I'm going to try this weekend to install them. Was hoping to just pay someone. Everything else on the car I've done myself and sometimes I just don't want to mess with it.

Hey, no, haven't done anything yet. Been out of town for work.

And it's still 95 degrees here. I try not to do things that will **** me off when it's that hot in the garage.

Looking good.
Any contact with the car? Did you have to modify the 3" duals on either side?
Cant wait to hear what it sounds like and see the sound pressure readings!

10db quieter at idle outside. 5db inside at idle.

Drones worse at 1500.

And is much louder above 2000.

Total bust. And I hacked up the exhaust to get those larger canisters to fit. They are longer and have much more packing. So I don't know? I plan to let them break in before I pass final judgement.

Exhaust tips are a little off now in order to make room for the canisters. So not touching. But at some points while driving, it sounded like it was. So I need to get under there and inspect closely after putting some miles on it.

However... it is deeper and drives nicer at 50 and 60mph. Just worse at 70+.

Considering how little room there is under the car, I have to give it to Kooks. They didn't do a terrible job with this exhaust for a mass market car with a history of being "off" from the factory on tolerances.

With that said, I'm planning to now install the bullets somewhere else if I can fit them. The Bullets + UltraFlos should be enough? Maybe?

But I need to check for leaks and things like that first.

Otherwise, I may be looking at those Magnaflow 4x9s.

Too bad, I agree additional bullets are probably the way to go. Wonder how bullets would work where the cats go for those who don't have them. Or even replacing cats with bullets if it would be quieter. The kooks cats are 10" long and ~4" around, not really any more room on the drivers side since the pipe flattens out after that.

It was quieter tonight when I drove it. So there's hope that with a few more heat cycles through it, the sound will settle in.

I also need to make sure it's not vibrating gainst the floor. It's heavier now with the UltraFlos. But they are 14x6 straight through mufflers with packing. They should be quieter... lol

The db meter was showing about 5 db quieter in a lot of places (cruise at 60 was about 80-82 either way and 85-87 at 70).But like just accelerating... where it was 95-98 db in the car with the big stall and the drone areas was 95-98db... it was around 88-91 now accelerating and the drone is around 90-93... both lower. Just the drone was deeper. Overall, the sound is much smoother with less BLATBLATLBAT.

Really, it just needs a resonator to break up the drone. So, I'm going to work on getting the bullets in there in the cat areas. Those long pipes to the x-pipe are like megaphones.

It's frustrating to put out the time, energy, hopes & money only to be disappointed.
I still can't get my head around why:
Larger can, more packing, sound canceling technology & these round mufflers can't make a significant difference in taming the system.

Hope they brake in & hit your goals.

Thank you your videos sold me on the Magnaflows, my SE true duals are rediculously loud.

My UMI crossbar for their torque arm presses tightly against the exhaust causing vibration that I never had before are you experiencing this with yours. does the MWC mount differntly?

Do you need it: I guess the thinking is, if you have the need for a 3" exhaust ... You probably have the power that's associated. At this level it is a valuable safety feature. I saw a DS break loose while a car was on a dyno ..... No joke to the destruction that was caused. If a person was in the middle of that fiasco it would have been "Lights out".
Seems like you and JakeFusion are the guys I need to be following! My relocation bar is the lowest point underneath my car. but the problem seem to be the bracket pressing against the exhaust. Are you experiencing that too?
