Default L92 vs LS3, oil dipstick and dipstick guide, which one to use?

Hi,

I am wondering If I need to use an LS3 oil dipstick and dipstick guide if I install a Camaro oilpan on a L92 truck engine?

My current dipstick guide is smashed from the transport so I need to decide if I get a new camaro dipstick and guide or the same that was installed before.

The LS3 and L92 dipstick and dipstick guide part numbers are not the same.

So I assume the have a different length due to the different oil pan? Or is only the upper part of the tube shaped differently to clear different types of headers or coil packs?

Is anyone able to explain this?

I used a LS3 Corvette dipstick and tube on my L92 without any issues. As long as the dipstick and the guide are matched it will read correctly regardless of the pan being used. I use an Autokraft pan.
