Ok guys , I have another question. I'm preparing to find a 6 or 6.2 to swap into my silverado with a 4.8. I know the ECU and wiring from the 4.8 will work after a tune but will I need a complete motor donor or can I swap all my current accessories right onto the new motor? Buying just a long block is much cheaper. Thank you

What year 4.8? You might run into some issues between Gen 3 and Gen 4.

My truck is an 07 and the new motor is 08.

Is your truck the classic body style?
If you have a Gen 3, you'll need a conversion box to get the ECU to run an 08 engine.

Accessories should swap over fine.

No its the newer style 07. Not a classic.

You shouldn't have an issue swapping over accessories. Also, correct me if I am wrong, 4.8L shouldn't have AFM and neither should the 6.0/6.2? Not 100%.

I am doing a similar swap but mine is an '07 Classic. Good luck!

6.0 and 6.2 were both available with AFM.
