Do I need a different belt with stock size ATI Damper?
Hello, I recently installed a ATI 917286 6-Rib 7.425" Steel Damper on my Gen4 5.3 engine, it also has the 4-Rib A/C pulley. Now I have replaced both AC and Main Serpentine belt along with both tensioners and idler pulleys less than 1,000 miles ago. I have checked with ATI and this is the correct damper and is not an under/over drive setup. The A/C Pulley is smaller than the main pulley so I am wondering if it is the A/C belt slipping, I run the A/C constantly since it is usually around 100 outside.
When it shifts at a higher RPM, around 4k and up, the belt chirps from slipping. I was told I didn't need to replace the belts, just make sure they are in good shape, which they are. So I am wondering if a smaller size is need for the ATI Damper?

You might just need a new A/C tensioner. They DO wear out.....

OOPS! Just re-read, did not catch that! However, there is the possibility of a defective tensioner. (My only "out" here, lol)
