Did the starter bolts change from the LS1?

I ask because I have the 1 short 1 long of the LS1 design, but have a sleeved 5.3 gen IV showing up tomorrow. Do I need different starter bolts? Never thought to consider that before this thread.

That'll mostly depend on the starter you're using, not so much the block.

IIRC the 5.3 starter used 2 equal length bolts but you know how it is... they say the 2nd thing you lose as you get old is your memory, but I can't remember what the 1st one was supposed to be...

Gotcha, I'm reusing my old LS1 starter so I'll stick with the original bolts too then.

Do yourself a favor and get the new design bolts. You do not want to run the old style unless you want your block breaking off at the starter and then have to spend $400 on the starter bridge to patch that crap up lol

Will the new design bolts work with an original LS1 starter?

EDIT: So after spending an hour reading through old threads on here, I sprung for a new truck starter utilizing the thicker mounting surface with the longer bolts. Not going to risk breaking off the starter mount on an expensive new sleeved block over a $50 starter.
