LS3 coils MELCO-MITSUBISHI vs Delphi / Round vs square
Hi,
the LS3 came equipped with two different style coils from factory. Some engines had the square Melco-Mitsubishi coils (12611424), some had the round Delphi coils (12573190).
Are they both equal in terms of performance? Or is one coil better than the other? Tuners like to use the 12573190 coil on all kind of different LS engines. But they rarely use the 12611424 coil. But I have not read anything bad about the 12611424 coil yet.
Can I replace a set of eight 12611424 coils for a set of eight 12573190 coils? Or am I going to run into problems because the coils have a different dwell time?

GEN-IV Coil = Modern
Hi, I like the GEN-IV coil as it is more modern design AND can have a MAX Dwell of 4.8ms.
My version is often fitted by LS-1 tech members AND reports of a better "feel" is aways given after replacement.
