I have an LS2 from on '06 GTO with about 41k miles. There is an oil starvation issue that we seem to have narrowed to either the pickup tube o-ring or the oil bypass valve in the oil pump. We're going to tear into those soon. While in there, what else should I replace? Water pump? Timing chain? What's worth doing at 41k? I plan to add the extra pickup tube brace.

To be honest, replace ONLY those parts that directly address the issue at hand. Normally at 41K, LS engines are hardly broken in.

did you check the AFM valve in the pan?

I have the GTO LS2, which didn't have AFM. I also have the aftermarket pan from Mast, so no valve in the pan.

some 06 GTO's did have the valve in the pan, IIRC.
