Default LS3 cam/crank sensor input voltage

as near as i can tell, it looks like the cam/crank use 12v's to the sensors, not the 5v's other sensors use-is that correct
also, on a 58 tooth crank sensor, is their a mark to ref top dead center, or just use a stop and deg wheel-trying to use an ex. computer setup that used a front crank sensor which was also 58 tooth, so i should be able to somehow adapt to the ex LS crank sensor
most of my LS drawings are older, so not sure if their still accurate
thanks

The sensors still run off 5V, but there are different sensors for the 24x and 58x wheels. The 24x crank sensor is black, and 58x sensor is grey. The older cam sensor goes in the back of the block next to the oil pressure sensor, the new 58x is on the front timing cover. The gap in the 58x ring lines up with the sensor when piston 2 is at TDC, 90 degrees off from #1. I can post over some pics if you want, I have a complete LS3 short block sitting at home.

58 is 5v and 24 is 12v.

Front cam sensors are 5v. Not sure on rear

Hmm ill have to consult my docs on that one. Ive built probably 30 ls harnesses both gen 3 and 4. Never seen an engine sensor run off 12v. Its always regulated reference voltage from the internal 5v regulator in the ECU. Too much voltage variation trying to run off ign power

Guess I never checked the running voltage of the sensors, since both power and ground come from the ECM, never really had to question it. Just looked up a 2002 Camaro SS, and the cam and crank sensors both run off 12v. Must be a regulated 12V instead of the usual 5v. Looked up a 2010 Camaro LS3, and both the Cam and Crank sensors run off a 5V ref from the ECU. So Tim you were correct, 24x is 12V, 58x is 5V on both sensors.

i know this is an old post but i am getting +5V on pins 1 and 3. I traced is back to the ECU the wire are correct, does that meant my ECU is Faulty?

Pin A or 1 is 5v
pin b or 2 is ground
Pin c or 3 is signal, which if measured while the sensor is unplugged will also read 5v as there is no input to pull it high or low to trigger the circuit.

when I check voltage at the connector (key on, not running) that goes into the cam position sensor, I get this:
Attachment 712007

Is this correct? '09 LS2?
