Super Victor or Hi Ram on a 440ci rec port?
Was going to switch my intakes this winter and was wondering if anyone had information on either of these intakes on a 440ci engine or at least a 427 or something comparable. my set up this year will be a 440ci 13 or 12.5 to 1 compression ls9 headed ls1 block. I'm looking for power up to 7500-8000 rpms since i have a standard glide with a 4.11 gear 28" tires. last year shifting at 7500 had me around 7 at the traps, car was way down in power though i recycled my old cam from the 370 so this yeah I'm hoping to trap 150mph or more. Even if anyone has a few comparisons I could look at I would appreciate it, any slips or dyno numbers thank you

I would guess the cid would be comparable to the mast, they look to be similar, may look up some results on those..

That seems to have the information i was looking to see. up top the vic falters but the mast stays flat. i might run out to 8400 if it keeps making power

Also note that the Super Vic had been ported while the MAST was as delivered.
If I could fit a 4500 TB then I would definitely go that route. So if you have the option, I recommend doing so whichever intake you choose. Especially if you plan to spin that level of RPM.

One thing to be certain to note is that the MAST is a 4500 TB while the Super Vic is a 4150 TB. The 4150 plenum is a lot smaller which is what I believe causes the dropoff up top. I was actually pretty impressed that the Super Vic kept up with the bigger MAST as well as it did.
Also note that the Super Vic had been ported while the MAST was as delivered.

Do you have any dyno or other data to show how that compares to a traditional 4150 4-blade throttle body? That's an interesting design idea...
I actually run one that is no longer made which was rated at 1550 CFM from Accel. I have no way to verify that flow rate of course, but it feeds my engine pretty well. I do get a bit of vacuum at the top of dyno pulls, but I expect that is as much plenum volume as it is throttle body flow capability.

Lance, I like that throttle body design quite a bit. A pair of 2.5" blades should outflow your typical 4150 throttle body with 4 1.75" blades, especially with that inlet shape.
Any plans on offering with larger 2.75" blades?

I use the SAME butterflies in my "Eight Stack" LS ITB Intake.
The casting is too thin in the bore area for a size increase.

I think the CID is the way i will go. Looking around people are saying the same thing, I never considered them since I figured they would be mast expensive.

You may want to look at a TSP sleeved LS3 block if you are going to do all this. The LS3 is a better block and it has the bay-to-bay breathing windows that the NA motors like. Not so much for forced induction. I think they did some other block improvements as compared to the LS1. Most of the cost is getting the block ready and sleeving it that is why I suggest it. The LS9 takes 12 mm head bolts too. They can add that as an option also.
