Default 2" headers on LS2

Ok so here's the deal, I'm going to be doing heads/cam/intake and full bolt on's on my 2006 Corvette. I'll be building a Procharged 408 once the car is payed off. But for now just going to build the LS2 that's in the car. I'll be getting the 243's done from Phil at Advanced Induction along with a custom grind roller cam. I only want to buy headers once so can i get away with 2" headers on my full bolt on heads/cam/intake LS2 for now ? I had a 2000 Camaro Z28 that had 1 7/8 Kooks headers and the car loved them. So I'm thinking my LS2 with 2" headers should be fine. Thoughts ?

Car should run ok with 2" headers, however that is a very big pipe to fill.

I got down to 11.79 seconds and as fast as 117.8mph with 1 5/8" tri y's.
Currently run 1 7/8" 4>1 extractors.

Just for size comparison one of our local burnout cars, that makes approximately 1,600hp is also using only 1 7/8" primaries.

Yeah after thinking about it some more maybe 1 7/8 might be just right.

There were a bunch of comparison dyno's the the vette forums, the 1-7/8 usually made more power, even with a huge cam. 2" is 454 territory.

2" will gain more power everywhere, but not much over the 1 7/8. dont listen to the llamas. if price is equal, the 2" is the best.

"I'll be building a Procharged 408"

I would buy the 2" headers now. That motor will need them. A 2" won't be bad at all for your current setup.

Since you will be going with a Procharger, do yourself a favor and get the 2" headers. Do it once and do it right. Whatever Procharger you go with will benefit from the larger primaries.

As mentioned, I would go with 2" headers as well.
