Trick Flow heads ?????'s
I have an 02 Z06 and I just bought a pair of tf 215cc heads that have been milled down to 59cc. That puts the compression ratio at 11.48. Am I going to be able to run 91 octane gas with this set up? I'm planning going with a mid 230's duration cam. Any help or opinions would be much appretiated!

You can enter your cam, chamber volume, head gasket thickness, etc. in the spreadsheet. Then adjust your variables so DCR is at or under 8.5 to avoid detonation on pump gas.

Wow talk about teattering on the threashold. I'm at a DCR of 8.44 or 8.5 depending on head gasket thickness. Unless I go with a bigger cam then I'm in the 8.20's range but I don't want to sacrife too much driveability. Unless I go with the lunati (232/238-599/601 113lsa) then I'm about 8.32. What do you guys think?

why not just run 93 in the car. your talking 5cent a gallon diff not huge.... not worth the risk in my opion. Now it all depends on your tune how good it is and how much timing is in it... its all in the timing

With a tight quench (or "squish") dimension, like 0.030" or less, the design of the heads for LS engines, along with the properties of aluminum heads, lets us run at dynamic compression ratios of 8.7 to 1 on 93 octane. You could probably run 91 octane on the same setup by pulling back on the timing a little at WOT.

Why so big on the exhuast? Check out the video in my sig. Thats with the same heads you have a 232/236-646/612@114LSA cam.. No N2o and a full weight 3600lb Camaro with stock bottom end motor. Oh. back to your question. You shouldn't have PTV issues with that cam and the trick flow head. It's built @ 13 degree valve angle.. Again No Worries!!
