i might give it a try, i'm not saying it'll happen, but i know i possess the ability and have enough spare time to get one done IF i really get after it. i'm just curious what people would pay for REAL carbon because that's the medium i'm most likely going to use.

i'm just some guy messin around in my garage, i don't have ANY plastic molding equipment or anything like that. i could whip one up out of metal in an afternoon, but it would be difficult to repeat good fitment since there wouldn't be a master mold. Carbon is the best bet for me at this particular time, and i KNOW there are people out there like me that HATE faux-CF parts and must have only the real thing, so i think that coupled with the large outlet would make it a good selling item, i'm just curious what people on here THINK it would cost to purchase something like that so i have a ballpark to calculate my cost and something to compare it to.

If you're in a hurry and want something larger than stock, I'd highly recommend FastToys' lids. We appreciate your business and support, but since we don't have the equipment to make these here in-house, we're at other manufacturer's mercy. I'm afraid it's going to be a longer still. I apologize that we don't have any better info at this time. We promise we will try to update everyone as soon as we have good, solid info available.

So who dropped the ball then? Next week turned into 4 months?

So some other company is making them for you and you're waiting on them? Whats the deal? Do you have ANY timeframe established for this: YES / NO ??? Is this project's completion solely at the mercy of this other company?

what's the difference? no lids right now and that's that.
I could really use the lid right now myself but I'm going to have to mock one up and have it welded up in aluminum.

Guys, we still do not have them and have been referring anyone who calls to FastToys.

http://fasttoys.net/shop/product_inf...oducts_id=1704

They have a 104mm lid available to ship immediately! No need to bump the thread, we'll bump it and make new ones if/when ours is ever finished. Fast Toys's lid is a quality piece and we would not refer our customers to them if we weren't confident in the product.

I don't know about others, but I wouldn't mind paying upwards of $300 of a real carbon fiber lid. I'd probably just assume buy a different one and then wrap it in carbon fiber (real carbon fiber) but thats not to easy...
