stock bore is 4.00
can be bored up to .060
i have personally gone with .060 bore for 375ci for street motor,
put about 15k miles and sold car with it, no probs. h/c/i etc.
.030 or .040 is more common however,after .040 bore u will need large bore head gaskets such as l92
6.0 mls head gaskets are 4.045 and .055 compressed.
they can still be used on 4.03 bore

If you think about it the difference between 4.030 and 4.060 is .015 off each side of the cylinder wall....that is not that much!!!!

408 the longer the stroke the more problems they have. Seen a few on PT.net with larger stroker problems. The 408 4.060x4'' and will make plenty of power not worth the extra 10 cubes for anything else to much trouble.

Just stick with the most readily available oversize pistons and stroker cranks that are out there. They're popular for a reason. Personally I don't like stroker motors in DD cars due to the extra cylinder and piston wear they can cause over time. All depends on what your goals are, and what power adder you go with, if you intend to use one.

Indeed, you are correct. However, the longer stroke means more force is placed on the side of the piston, rings, and cylinder (mainly the "contact area" perpindicular to the centerline of the crank and piston pin), and will increse the amount of piston, ring, and cylinder wear i.e. taper and out of round. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying an increased stroke is a bad thing. It's actually a very good thing, but IMO it's not the wisest choice for a DD due to the increased wear.
