[PICS] Katech's Mosler MT900KR project

I thought you guys might like to see the progress of our Mosler MT900KR project. We basically took the MT900S street car and converted it into a track-day/HPDE machine.

Custom built LS2-based 427
Carrillo H-beam rods
Callies Magnum crankshaft
Katech pistons, just over 11:1 CR
DLC pins
GM Stage 3 cam
LS7 heads
Carbon fiber valve covers and coil relocation kit

Expected to make about 640hp.

Considering the car's light weight, awesome power, and phenomenal cornering ability, a proper dry sump system was high on our priority list. This features a custom made dry sump system with ARE pan and Dailey 3 stage scavenge pump. Internal pressure pump. The dry sump system was custom designed to fit within the space constraints of the Mosler and still retain the AC for those hot track days (the Mosler has almost no side window). Also a custom made alternator bracket to make space for the dry sump pump.

Yes, those are the dyno headers with 8 EGT and 8 O2 channels. That is the way to do it properly on the engine dyno. The car won't have that.

hey jason, what kind of numbers are being sought compared to the unlimited road race car that you showed last year?

Very similar. The engine has the same heads, cam and intake as the unlimited road race car. The only fundamental difference that will effect horsepower is compression ratio. This one is just over 11:1, where the C6 is 12:1.

All i can say is,WOW

I would think with all that money in the car, he would have wanted to use nylon braided tubing to save some weight over the stainless. Another thing about the headers, they look a bit undersized for that kind of motor. Looks like 1 3/4" in the pictures.

I like the dry sump pump and ALT setup. Would that fit in an f body, with an elec. water pump that's equipped with a motor plate?

Tainted Apr 14, 2009 08:05 AM

so how much do you think will be in this project car from the cost of the car to completion?

You must be talking about the dyno headers because you can't see the headers in the car from the pictures. Those are 1 7/8.

Maybe. We would have to mock it up.

I don't know if the owner wants to talk dollars. He can post here if he wants to. We're not really dumping a lot of money into it relatively speaking. You might be surprised.

Be intresting if it did. If it did.. be a real nice setup to market for the hardcore guys, a pan, the lines (cut to size @ install) and an adjustbale alt bracket and the drysump pump/bracket.

Just a thought :)
