milled 243 heads & PTV clearance in LS2...

I know there are a ton of varibles and it is best to take measuments, but is it advised/do-able to mill a set of 243 heads to get the chambers around 60cc using stock pistons and a moderate sized cam in a LS2? (FTI Streetsweeper HT) I haven't done this yet, I'm just thinking out loud before doing anything to see if it's possible to go for that slight bump in CR by milling them down a little. Is there a ton of room to play with on these motors or is it not a good idea?

I have talked to TEA about doing this on my ls2. After they do their stage 2 portwork the heads come off at 67cc so you would need mill them a little to just get them back 64cc. I wanted to use a 232/234 cam and they said if they took my heads to 59 cc it would be close, you would deffinitly have to check ptv. I believe you can use a cometic head gasket and that would give you a little more ptv and comression as well. I would say keep it under 230 duration and you would be fine but Iam sure some other people will chime in with some good advice so I will watching this thread.

Definately want to check p/v with that combo. I'd thought that was a mid-high 230s duration camshaft. Better safe than sorry for sure! I've run the 228R no problem at that milling, but we typically won't ship a 232/234 torquer 2 with that much milling. Like you said though the best way is to check it.
