TF CNC 225's or PRC 227? Looking to get the most power out of this LS2 :secret2:. I am already running a VRX-5 cam, SLP LT, and a SLP UDP. Will also be adding a FAST 102, FAST 46# injectors and a Spintech exhaust. Now it is just a matter of which head? I want to reach that 500 RWHP. |
For the price those PRC 227's Look quite nice. I would like to see these heads with a side by side comparrison... Everyone on here knows both company's are great especially TFS. |
tfs if you can afford them |
i am looking at the prc's for my car. they are really nice and make some good power. |
wont make it there with those headers no matter what head |

kooks 1 7/8", TFS 225's, and a ported fast will get you close. i did it on a customer's car with a 238/242 cam but it had jessels and an ewp on it |
Any more opinions? |
The advantage to the PRC 227 is it features a smaller chamber option for exactly this application. You can't mill the TFS enough & keep your p/v good to get compression where you need to be. The PRC 227 head will keep good p/v thanks to the little bit smaller valve, and it will start with a 62cc chamber so your compression is in good shape without milling! :) :) |
Anyone else want to chime in, I plan I buying this week. |
I have the TFS 225's with a 61cc Chamber, however I have a 4.125 bore and a small cam, on the Ls2 stock bore might be a problem with P/V as prev mentioned!! They work great with my combo!!:D |
Thunder has the TEA TF 225 for a really good price. Has dual springs all the goods you would need to get to your goal of 500rwhp. I have a mild size cam and a ported fast 92. With the size of cam you have, I have know doubts that you will reach what you want. When my car was tuned it put down 497rwhp before the smoothing factor and it was 90 degrees+ with TX humidity. These heads or ETP would do it but ETP is more cash. TEA 225 are around $2395. |
There is a guy on LS1gto that had a 60+hp gain with the TEA 225's. |
Decided to go with the TF 225's. Will post up when I get some #'s. |
