Default 402ci w/l92's back w/new numbers.

My last time out was a mess. I swapped to the LG motor sports g6x3 cam and seemed to loose power on these l92 heads w/l76 intake. they got it up to 480hp 450tq. I swapped to the victor jr elbow intake and a custom cam from Par G. New numbers are 530hp 470tq at 6,900rpm's. From 6,900 to 7,300 it only lost 9hp. I was told I lost tq because of the v.j intake. but,i'm happy with what I got......for now.

It is my 3rd cam in this motor. The l92's need the right cam and I swapped the intake too. Before cam g6x3 and l76 intake 480hp. This cam is from Pat G and we added the victor intake too.

Nice results. Do you have a graph? maybe a over lay of the two different cams to see how they really compare.

Great thing about Mike's new cam is that it had quite a bit less overlap than his previous cams. The street manners should be lots better with the new cam.

Cam specs.......I don't remember 100%. It's not a lot different then my first, little smaller but I think it just has different events to work with the l92's. It was custom to what I asked him to make it do. I wanted it to pull higher in the rpm and it does, drive some better and just make power. It seems to do what I asked.

How much of the 50 hp do you contribute to the intake? Is it about 50/50, one complimenting the other?

I wondered that too. The shop was supposed to dyno it with the old intake, then swap the the victor. But,they didn't. It would of been nice to see.

Sounds like a good cam. I see all these nice results from the smaller cams it's making me want to change mine before I even run it to see how It performs and how I like it.

I would be more interested in the power difference from 6100 to 7000. That's where the intake is going to make the difference, regardless of cams. The L76 intake should have run out somewheres around 6100, and the Vic Jr is going to keep pulling to 7000 or so.

The manifold SHOULD GAIN from about 5000-5500 up, as compared to the L76.
