I used a puller...put the crank bolt back in so the pull has something to push against and it'll come off no problems....

A crank shop can pull it off for around 10 dollars. There is a special tool to do it, I wouldnt risk trying it yourself man, just my opinion

A simple gear puller gets it off easy.....No need for a professional to do it...

some ne had this to say on a nother site.............. The trigger wheel in the stock engine can be
left off in dist engines with or without efi. The one thing that may cause a small issue is the factory trigger wheel is used as a helper in balancing the crankshaft. If you remove it mallory metal will be required in the rear counterweight unless your bobweight is getting much lighter..
