Tie-bar lifters... whats the story?
Ok lets take a step back and cover some bases..
1) my stock LS2 in my GTO took a huge dump when a stock lifter grenaded itself.
2) bought an LS3 block, poped in a new rotating assy, and put in caddy lifters
3) pull said LS3 block to put in my vette after about 20k miles and find one of my caddy lifters... has started to puke its guts out. not bad yet but it was apparently on its way out.
so my motor is down at the machine shop and the guys down there are recomending the **** out of these comp roller tie-bar lifters... they look hot, but are a bit pricey.
Ive already decided to say **** it im buyin them with this build BUT for once im really not sure what the major difference is.. what makes them better? what purpose does the tie-bar serve? do i still need my lifter trays? anything else i should know?

You will not use Lifter trays with them. These usually allow for more lift on the cam without running the risk of the lifters coming out of the trays. If you're not doing anything major with the cam, they may have just been selling you a part...but they are nice pieces! I've got the Morel Link-bars in my LSX 427.

I use Comps stuff all the time but have never used these lifters so far but they are definitely different parts.
