Default Ls3 broke block where motor mounts



2010 LS3 block...broke this one, the other side is cracked just a tad...

Can this be fixed? Maybe fill it with aluminum and retap it? Anyone every done this on an aluminum block?

Some that knows how to tig aluminum really well should be able to weld it up Then re-thread it. Even if someone told me it couldnt be done I would need to try form myself for such minor damage.

If you dont think cast aluminum can be welded you should see my built 4l80e. I has a hugh tig line accoss the bell housing.

I saw that on ebay. I wouldn't hesitate to weld it and then helicoil it.

I broke a starter ear off my block and tig welded it back and it work perfect and was done about years ago.
