The camshaft is 223/231 .610/.617 115+4. That's Vengeance Racing Stage one. I will be using the LS7 lifters.

The G8s never came with VVT but the same motor in the trucks did. weird.

Nice! I'm gonna be in the market for a G8 in about 6 months, I'm gonna throw a nice mild cam / headers / and exhaust at it and call it good! It'll be the family car, I got the T/A for the toy.

That cam is an excellent choice IMO. With the propper tune it should idle nearly stock, and really come alive when you want it to.

Definately a great sleeper cam!!! Perfect for a G8.

That Striper is great to remove old oil or any stuff that builds up in the cylinder heads - removes gaskets great!!!
One thing: you NEED to ware gloves and be in a well vented place - get this **** on your hands and it will dissolve your skin and it BURNS, do not wash with water (found that one out) put your hand in a bucket of oil and rub off.

That's a copy of an off the shelf comp LSR cathedral port cam, but on a 115 instead of a 113 LSA. Should be a good performer. I went with a 227/235 LSR cam and it's pretty damn good IMO. Should be hard to keep the tires planted

I believe Livernois Motorsports stage 1.5 is the same as my cam just slightly less lift. This cam will bring me to 400+rwhp and it will run 12.5s if i hook... Maybe better.

The heads will not be ported & if they were I'd start with a fresh casting and have them done on a cnc machine. The LS3/L92 heads flow pretty good from the factory. For what I'm looking for I won't need ported cylinder heads. After the camshaft the engine will be given a little 75 shot and it will be around 500 to the tire.

Day Three:
Finished up and started it today. Sounds great! Doesn't like to hold a hot idle but it needs tuning.
Took about 3-4 hours - That damn oil pickup bolt is a pain!!! That alone took 45 minutes and i dropped it into the oil pan :[ EASY fix, to get it out pull out the oil level sensor and get at it from their with a magnet.

I started to take photos but then i got too cought up in the install and stopped. Sorry - but its straight and simple...
