Really? Youre worried about $10 for shipping vs having a misaligned cover?
When youre dealing with oil leaks, especially on the rear cover, youll be kicking yourself over that 10bucks.

I just bought a full set and will be using them constantly. I recently started working at a shop and will be assembling many LS motors. So these will come in quite handy. Customers dont like oil leaks.

Btw fellas, the saccity dogbone is pretty badass too. Bought one for my sons 408.

Christian,
Thanks for the products and fast shipping.

Hi maroonls1z,
The problem we found with using the seal to align the cover is the seal lips flex and don't keep the cover centered when you tighten the bolts down. Especially when tightening the two oil pan bolts, they pull the cover down farther then it needs to go and will cause misalignment of the seal. GM even recommends using the expensive Kent Moore tool to align the cover. The new seal does come prelubed, we only put oil on the tool O-ring.
Hope that helps.

Thank you,
Christian

I have had these for almost 3 years now, all I can say is if you work on LS engine often, it is something you need in your tool box. I have used them 4 or 5 times now and it is well worth it, makes aligning the covers a breeze.

Do you live in a cold climate? Has your Align-It tool become stuck on the back of your crankshaft and is too oily to get a good grip on? Are conventional caveman methods of hitting and prying on it not working?

Don't worry!

Just grab an old accessory drive belt and wrap it around the tool, then twist just like you would with a pickle jar. Problem solved!

Because Canada.

I really do like having these SacCityCorvette tools and the Kent Moore kit when assembling an engine.

Thanks for the tip and the kind words mOtOrHeAd.
Our latest Rear Main Tools have a O-ring on the inside of the tool that should eliminate issues with cold weather. Does yours have a O-ring on the inside part of the tool or just the outer O-ring?
Merry Christmas!

If your doing the Rear Main don't forget to install one of our Precision Billet Barbells/Oil Diverter while you in there. It keeps unfiltered oil out and improves oil flow! Check out the videos at the link below. Also check our other oil system improvement products.

Just ordered a front/rear kit and a barbell! They look great. Trying to build a new 700whp forged LSA here and I don't want leaking seals or crap sneaking past the stock barbell lol. Even the new one in my new block looks like cheap junk. You would think with a $2500 block and such an expensive engine (the LSA/LS9 anyway) that you would get more than a piece of plastic.

Thanks

Thanks for your order aero!
Ya, the stock barbell isn't even completely round if you mic it. So it doesn't seal very well.

Thanks
Christian

I bought these two years ago when I was putting the engine together on a stand and I had to use the timing cover align tool again the other day to do a cam swap. These align tools are a MUST have tools no doubt!

Hi,
If you have your engine torn down, doing a rear main seal or have your pan off you might be interest in these oil system improvement items.
You can find how they work to improve your system here.

Hi all!
If you're doing an engine build or cam swap, these tools will help prevent premature seal wear and leaks.
https://www.saccitycorvette.com/AlignItTools.html

Also, while doing that build or rear main seal, its a good time to install our Billet Barbell to help keep unfiltered oil out of your bearings and lifters.
Check out our Billet Oil System Improvement Parts.

Thank you,
Christian
