Default Break in oil for just a cam change?

Any of you guys use break in oil with just a cam swap? Pulled my 20-25k mile comp cam out and noticed 4 lobes had some wear so I'm going to throw a new one in along with new lifters. I run mobil 0-50 racing oil.

On a roller cam I have never used break in oil. There is nothing to break in! However, it's a good idea to liberally coat the new cam with assembly lube. I usually coat the rollers on the lifters as well, but that might be over the top.

A flat tappet cam is a totally different story... that definitely requires break in oil or an oil additive.

From what I've read, its a good idea to still run some sort of zinc enriched oil. Its always easier to ad the extra insurance now vs. I should of……..

I already run mobil 0-50 racing oil, which has a 1850 ppm zddp. More than double the recomended 5-30
