I would opt for a new chain for sure...not really sure what valve you are talking about...if it is the single cam bolt/valve, then yes...It is a tty style bolt so you need a new one every time you loosen it after torquing it to spec...

Ordered new chain, tensioner , valve/cam bolt and orange o ring for oil pump went with ls3 tensioner because I don't think u can use ls2 style damper with vvt

Yeah I wasn't sure on the tensioner...for the oil pick up o-ring I think I used the one that came with my melling oil pump, so I didn't use either of the ones that came with my holley pan, but the way I decided on that was trying all of the ones I had with the pan and with the pump, and just picked the one that seemed like it had the best seal....What is the engine going in just out of curiosity?

Mine is going in a 1970 chevelle...Wish I could use the revised holley pan to get the tie rod clearance, but I can't due to having a 4.125" stroke crank...

Yeah that was just one more thing I didn't want to mess with...I only loose about 1/8th of a turn of the steering wheel, so I'm not that concerned with it...I had enough trouble clearancing the windage tray

I hadn't looked at the mast pan before...I got the holley installed now, and it won't be coming off the engine unless something goes boom...I have heard of people having issues finding a tuner for the VVT stuff...
